The Canadian developer, Intrawest, is responsible for the new ski village at Flaine with the first phase now complete
and open to visitors as of June 2008.
The village is called Flaine-Montsoleil and on completion will increase available accommodation by
approximately five hundred apartments, ranging from one to five bedrooms in size.
In August 2009, management of the new village was transferred to the
Pierre & Vacances
Group.

Flaine-Montsoleil is located between Hameau de Flaine and the resort centre at 1700 m.
The village faces due south with stunning views across the Flaine bowl and even boasts one of the
highest golf courses in the Alps.

This south facing aspect accounts for the "Montsoleil" name and the buildings are set in landscaped grounds with facilities including doorstep skiing, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a fitness centre with jacuzzi (and sauna) as well as underground parking.
Access to the village is improved by new lifts that are part of the upgrade plan for the Flaine ski area.
The stone and wood contemporary styling of the new development is in keeping with Flaine's modern art theme and the developers have aimed to provide a place where "nature, people and design share a powerful bond."
Les Terrasses d'Eos was the first residence to open in 2008 and consists of 145 4-star apartments in two buildings.
Accommodation incorporates the same principles as Intrawest's Arc 1950 village, namely comfort and space with high specification interiors.
The majority are offered for lease back and income from renting will be divided between Intrawest and the owner.
Flaine Foret
A new residence opened in Flaine Foret at the start of the 2007/08 season. The 3-star Les Pleiades Residence is situated between Iris and Verseau and contains 40 tourist apartments.
