The village will be named Flaine-Montsoleil, and on completion will add accommodation for an additional 2700 visitors in two buildings. Sited at 1700 metres and situated between Hameau de Flaine and the resort centre the village will face due south with views over one of the highest golf courses in the Alps towards the Flaine bowl and the Grandes Platieres top station. This south facing aspect accounts for the "Montsoleil" name and the buildings will be set in landscaped grounds with facilities including doorstep skiing, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a fitness centre with jacuzzi and sauna as well as underground parking. Access to the new village will be improved by new lifts that are part of the upgrade plan for the Flaine ski area. The stone and wood contemporary styling of the new development will be in keeping with Flaine's modern art theme and the developers aim is to provide a place where "nature, people and design share a powerful bond." Les Terrasses d'Eos will be the first residence to open in 2008 and consists of 91 4-star apartments which will go on sale with prices starting at around 220,000 Euros for a one bed. These apartments will incorporate the same principles as Intrawest's Arc 1950 village, namely comfort and space with high specification interiors. The majority will be offered for lease back and income from renting will be divided between Intrawest and the owner. Flaine ForetA new residence will be opening in Flaine Foret in time for the start of the 2007 season. The 3-star Les Pleiades Residence situated between Iris and Verseau consists of 40 tourist apartments and prices start from 131,000 Euros for a 2 room type. |
